Initial Teacher Training (ITT) is an expanding area within the work of The Greet Teaching School Alliance.  As a Teaching School Alliance we are firmly committed to supporting teachers at every stage of their career and we see the training year as the beginning of a successful career with us: from initial teacher training to the highest levels of leadership.  Our ITT working group, chaired by an Alliance Headteacher, meets regularly to build collective knowledge, take opportunities to develop closer school/university links and further strengthen our ITT provision.  Many schools across the Alliance currently have students and trainees on a range of teacher training routes, including a growing number on our successful School Direct PGCE Training Programmes.  Our School Direct PGCE programme combines high-quality in-school experience and support with bespoke training sessions delivered by University specialists and expert practitioners from our schools to fully prepare trainees to teach across the Primary age-range.
