We have run a pilot programme focusing on developing leadership opportunities for headteachers and deputy headteachers in recognition of our changing educational landscape and are currently working on developing provision in this area.
This programme is suitable for:
Experienced headteachers who might be considering some form of Executive Headship in the future.
Experienced deputy headteachers who might be considering a role as a Head of School in the future.
Experienced assistant headteachers who might be required to step up in the future.
Attendance can be individual, as a pair or as a leadership group. It is appropriate for individual career development or as part of a bigger strategic plan for your school or cluster of schools.
The programme will enable participants to prepare themselves for the NPQH (level 3) or the new qualifications for serving headteachers (level 4) and system leaders (level 5).
We are delighted that the programme is supported by Stella Blackmore, education consultant; former primary HT, inspector, deputy director of education and currently governor of a primary federation and a teaching school.
We envisage that following the initial pilot we will further develop the programme to support succession planning and talent management.
